Recommended Devices
CheX is mainly a web app. So in that respect it allows you to often use devices that may not always be supported by current software updates.
We have a list of the minimum recommended specifications of hand held devices that can run CheX and perform inspections.
Three key things are:
- Camera
- GPS location available
- Internet Connection.
Recommended Device Specs
- CPU : min. 1.2GHz quad-core
- RAM : min. 2GB (marginally acceptable is 1GB)
- Storage: 8GB
- OS: min. Android 5
- Camera: 5MP min.
- Cellular: H+ or 4G,
- GPS: Required
- WiFi: Optional, but useful
Recommended Devices
These are devices that we have either used or have met the basic requirements.
Tablets :
- Samsung Tab A 7” - (Meets the minimum specs and has been tested)
- Vodafone/Vodacom 7" tablet (Has been tested)
Phone:
- Nokia 5 Core
- Huawei Y6 (2017/8)
- Xiaomi Mi or RedMi range e.g. Note 4X, A1, Mi 4 (Tested)
- Doogee rugged IP68 range if IP rating needed
- iPhone 6SE - iPhone 8 (Chrome for stable experience.)
